YOUR EX readers joined Sky’s Rialto Channel at Auckland’s Capitol Cinema for an exclusive preview of the acclaimed Danish drama Carmen Curlers.

Inspired by a remarkable true story, Carmen Curlers explores the creation of the electric hair curler that went on to become an international success.
Set against the social upheaval of the 1960s, the series follows determined entrepreneur Axel Byvang as he pursues an idea with the potential to transform women’s daily routines.
As his business expands, it also opens new doors for women entering the workforce, challenging long-held expectations around employment, family life and independence.
The well-attended screening gave guests an engaging introduction to a stylish period drama blending entrepreneurial ambition, complex relationships and women’s liberation with plenty of vintage glamour.
