Police in London are appealing for information after a 23-year-old man was subjected to homophobic abuse and assaulted in Hackney.
The incident happened in Broadway Market in the early hours of Saturday, 4 July. The London Ambulance Service attended the scene, and the victim later went to hospital with a facial injury.
He continues to receive support from specialist LGBTQ+ liaison officers.
Police Release Image In Public Appeal
The Metropolitan Police have now released an image of a man they want to speak to as part of the investigation.
We’re appealing for information following a homophobic hate crime, in which a 23-year-old man was subject to abuse and assaulted.

PC Jack Hiew of Stoke Newington Police Station said officers had already carried out several enquiries before turning to the public for help.
Police have classified the incident as a homophobic hate crime.
Victim Continues To Receive Support
Hiew said police recognised the impact the attack had on the victim and confirmed that specialist LGBTQ+ liaison officers remain in contact with him.
Hate-motivated attacks can have an impact well beyond physical injuries, particularly when someone is targeted because of their sexuality or identity.
For LGBTQ+ communities, incidents like this also reinforce concerns about being able to move through public spaces safely without fear of abuse or violence.
Police Ask Witnesses To Come Forward
Anyone who recognises the man in the image, or who may have information about the incident, is being urged to contact the Metropolitan Police.
Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers.
