All Charges Against Drake Von Dropped In Las Vegas Domestic Violence Case

All criminal charges against adult performer Drake Von arising from domestic-violence allegations in Las Vegas have been dismissed, according to court records, although a separate DUI case remains pending.

Adult film performer Drake Von, whose legal name is Dawson Bacon, is no longer facing criminal charges connected to a June domestic-violence case in Las Vegas.

Von, 23, had faced multiple charges following an incident on 2 June, including domestic battery by strangulation and felony coercion constituting domestic violence.

Court material reviewed by multiple outlets shows that all five charges in that case were dismissed on 14 October.

Von celebrated the development on social media the following day, posting a video of himself dancing in a suit while lip-syncing the line: “I just beat the case.”

What had Von been accused of?

According to a police report obtained by Out, Von’s girlfriend alleged that an argument between the pair became physical after she threw a Louis Vuitton “promise ring” from a car window.

She told police that after the couple returned home, Von allegedly took her phone, refused to return it and ordered her to kneel and apologise.

She further alleged that he grabbed her by the throat, forced her to the ground and applied pressure to her neck until she could not breathe and felt as though she lost consciousness.

Those were allegations contained in the police investigation.

Von denied wrongdoing when the case first became public, telling Out that the allegations were false and predicting that the charges would ultimately be dropped.

The charges have now been dismissed, but the available court reporting does not establish that a judge or jury made a factual finding on the underlying allegations.

SWAT officers were called during his arrest

Police also called a SWAT team to Von’s apartment during the June arrest after officers reportedly noticed an empty firearm magazine inside the residence.

Von declined to answer police questions and requested a lawyer.

His arrest generated substantial attention because of his profile within gay adult entertainment.

Von is a GayVN Award-winning performer and has built a significant following online.

Dismissal is not the same as an acquittal

The distinction between a dismissal and an acquittal is important.

A dismissal means prosecutors are no longer pursuing the charges.

It does not necessarily indicate why the case ended, and it does not automatically establish that the allegations were fabricated or disproven.

No trial took place in which a judge or jury determined guilt or innocence.

That makes Von’s own description that he “beat the case” understandable as a celebration of the charges ending, but legally the outcome is more precisely described as a dismissal.

Other legal matters remain unresolved

The dismissal does not end every legal matter involving Von.

A separate Nevada DUI case from August remains active, according to court-search material reviewed in reporting on the dismissal.

Von was also arrested in Los Angeles in July on suspicion of possessing a toxic substance similar to toluene.

TMZ reported that he was booked on a misdemeanour possession allegation and released on his own recognisance.

Those matters are separate from the domestic-violence case that has now been dismissed.

What happens next?

For Von, the dismissal removes the most serious charges he had been facing from the June incident.

In comments reported following the decision, he said he hoped he could begin rebuilding his life after months of public scrutiny.

The case also underlines why care is needed when reporting criminal allegations involving public figures.

The original accusations were serious and documented in police reports.

They were also allegations, not proven facts.

Now that the case has ended without a trial, the most accurate description is equally straightforward: the charges were dismissed, and there was no verdict on the underlying allegations.
