Pete Davidson has joked that if his comedy and acting career ever falls apart, he has a backup plan: tight underwear, OnlyFans and an early retirement.
Pete Davidson may have spent years building a career in comedy, television and film, but apparently even he sometimes looks at influencer money and wonders whether there is an easier way.
In a new interview and accompanying video with Variety, the 32-year-old comedian took aim at the extraordinary amounts some social media stars can earn — before joking that perhaps he should try cashing in on adult content himself.
Davidson said seeing influencers reportedly make tens of millions of dollars left him questioning the state of celebrity culture.
“Who the fuck are you? What do you do? Nothing,” he joked, before describing influencers making “$40 million a year” as evidence that “the world is broken”.
He reserved particular confusion for creators who become hugely successful through simple TikTok dances.
“This is insane,” Davidson said. “Does no one else see how insane and lame this is? And these girls are super famous.”
The comedian admitted the phenomenon makes him feel “really old”.
But instead of simply complaining about it, Davidson has apparently considered whether he should join the creator economy himself — in a distinctly NSFW way.
“But I do think about it once a week: should I just start on OnlyFans and show soft cock in really tight underwear and just soft cock and retire? Or just keep trying?” he joked.
And if Hollywood ever stops working out?
“I don’t know, if it all goes to fail, I could just soft cock it,” Davidson added.
There is, for now, no indication that Davidson is actually launching an OnlyFans account.
The comments came during a broader Variety interview in which the former Saturday Night Live star also discussed more serious subjects, including becoming a father and his past struggles with addiction.
But for anyone wondering whether Pete Davidson has considered monetising the thirst that has followed him throughout much of his celebrity career, the answer appears to be: absolutely.
Whether he ever follows through is another question entirely.
