Yungblud has addressed ongoing allegations of queerbaiting, saying such accusations are part of the reason he briefly stepped away from social media.

Speaking on the We Need to Talk podcast hosted by Paul C. Brunson, the 27-year-old musician opened up about growing up in Doncaster, landing his first record deal, and how public perception has affected his mental health.

When asked directly about queerbaiting—a term used to describe individuals or brands that hint at LGBTQ+ identities to attract queer audiences without actual representation—Yungblud, born Dominic Harrison, was characteristically blunt.

“I’ve f***ed everyone under the sun and that’s the vibe,” he said. “I love love. And if it’s a vibe, it’s a vibe.”

His comments align with previous statements he’s made about his sexuality. In a 2020 interview with Attitude magazine, he revealed he is polyamorous and pansexual, saying: “I love everyone, I’m attracted to everyone.”

During the podcast, Yungblud reiterated his open approach to relationships and attraction, saying people often make assumptions about him without knowing the truth. “If the person’s a vibe, the person’s a vibe,” he added.

The singer also reflected on how social media had impacted him, particularly when he was younger. At 21, he said, false narratives online led him to shut down emotionally. Now at 27, he’s better able to laugh off the negativity, but the scrutiny hasn’t disappeared.

“I’m loud and I’m myself,” he said. “I’m quite opinionated and I’ve got an energy people don’t believe is real.”

Yungblud also talked about challenging gender norms through his style choices, noting he’s been wearing skirts since he was six. Despite his bold image and outspokenness, he shared that he often feels drained by the judgment he receives, even from those who later admit they were wrong about him.

“I’m exhausted,” he confessed, referring to people who change their opinion after meeting him. “It’s like, just let me be me.”
