Beau Lamarre-Condon, the former New South Wales police officer awaiting trial over the alleged murders of his ex-partner Jesse Baird and Baird’s boyfriend Luke Davies, has reportedly attempted to arrange paid media interviews from behind bars.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Lamarre-Condon used an intermediary to propose exclusive interviews involving his mother, with the condition that he could join the conversations via weekend video calls from prison.
“He is offering an interview with his mother, which can only occur on weekends, as that is when he [Lamarre-Condon] can join them via an AVL from jail,” an anonymous source told the publication.
A police source added that Lamarre-Condon is “upset” over how he has been portrayed in the media, particularly objecting to the repeated use of a recent court sketch from his appearance at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court. “He just craves attention,” the source said.
Corrective Services NSW reiterated that it does not permit media interviews with inmates in order to protect victims and their families from further distress. A spokesperson stated that while they cannot comment on individual inmates due to privacy laws, “interviews between inmates and the media are not approved.”
Lamarre-Condon has been held in Long Bay Jail’s high-risk unit for over 16 months. He faces two counts of murder and one charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence. He has not yet entered any pleas and is due back in court on 17 June.
As the trial draws nearer, more details continue to emerge about the lives tragically cut short. Jesse Baird’s friend and former colleague Craig Bennett revealed to the Daily Mail that Baird had just landed his dream job as a producer on The Real Housewives of Sydney before his death.

“He was ever so excited about it because he loved the show,” said Bennett. “Jesse was great on camera, but also an accomplished producer… He never got to see that dream realised.”
