Beloved RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 star Tamisha Iman has revealed she’s taking a break from drag to embark on a new creative journey, shifting her focus to producing and building a platform dedicated to Southern music.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Tamisha announced her temporary departure from the drag world, sharing that she will now devote her time and energy to her new roles as owner and producer of Southern Soul Music Nation and Trail Ride Radio. The platforms aim to celebrate Southern Soul, Zydeco, Blues, Line Dance, and rich Southern storytelling traditions.

“For over 37 years, I gave my heart, body, and soul to an industry that shaped me, saved me, and scarred me all at once,” she wrote.
“The ride was wild, beautiful, painful, and glorious. And while I saw the end coming long before it arrived, I held on… For you.”

The legendary queen continued:

“But now, as this chapter slows to a stop, I want you to know this: I am not done. I’m just shifting lanes — from the spotlight to the studio, from performer… to producer. I’ve found a new kind of peace, a new kind of purpose — building something powerful for the next generation, and telling stories on my own terms.”

The Southern Soul Music Nation website’s “About Us” page offers deeper insight into the vision behind Tamisha’s new direction. Under her real name, Will Crawford, she is described as a veteran performer and entrepreneur:

“With over three decades of experience as a dynamic force in entertainment, Will Crawford is a visionary creator, cultural trailblazer, and community leader.”

The platform, including the Trail Ride Radio Network, aims to serve as a 24/7 destination for emerging Southern Soul and R&B artists, offering them a home where their music and cultural impact are honoured and amplified.

“Inspired by Southern roots, juke joint traditions, and today’s digital renaissance, Will created this network not only as a destination for soulful music but also as a movement. A place where fans, legends, and future icons meet.”

Tamisha closed her statement with warmth and optimism for the future:

“This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a ‘see ya soon.’”

While fans will surely miss her presence on the drag stage, her new venture promises to be a bold and meaningful evolution of her creative legacy.
