Romeo Beckham is stepping further into his acting era, with StudioCanal unveiling a new look at the 24-year-old in upcoming queer tennis drama Forty Love.
The newly released image shows Beckham alongside French actor Paul Kircher, who stars as 21-year-old tennis player Sacha Gallo.
Beckham plays a charismatic new rival who enters Sacha’s tightly controlled world and challenges far more than just his ambitions on court.
In other words: tennis, tension and apparently plenty of chemistry.
What Is Forty Love About?
Directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, Forty Love follows Sacha as he prepares to chase his first major title in Paris under the watch of his demanding father.
His world is built around discipline, competition and winning.
Then Beckham’s character arrives.
According to the official synopsis, Sacha finds himself facing “an opponent of an entirely different nature: love”, with the film exploring ambition, intimacy and identity inside the pressure-heavy world of professional tennis.
The new still offers another glimpse of the central pairing after StudioCanal released its first official image earlier this year.
Romeo Beckham’s Acting Debut
Forty Love marks Beckham’s first major film role after careers in football and modelling.
He previously played professionally in the United States and England before moving further into fashion, working with brands including Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Burberry.
Now he is adding acting to the CV.
French reports have also indicated Beckham performs in both English and French in the film.
He joins an impressive cast that includes Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Voisin and French screen legend Catherine Deneuve.
Kircher, meanwhile, is known for films including The Animal Kingdom and Winter Palace.
Fashion Meets Film
Carlotti is making his feature directing debut with Forty Love after building his name as a fashion photographer.
That background is already visible in the film’s polished, sensual visual style, with production taking place across the south of France, Paris and the wider Paris region.
The project is produced by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary for Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, with StudioCanal and Manna Studios also involved.
The score comes from 070 Shake and composer Johan Lenox.
When Can We Watch It?
Forty Love is scheduled to arrive in French cinemas on 25 November 2026.
An international release is expected to follow, although specific New Zealand release details have not yet been announced.
For now, we have another still, a queer sports romance and Romeo Beckham making his acting debut.
Game, set, intrigue.
