A sold out campsite at Northland’s Uretiti Beach made for a fascinating end to the year. New year’s eve celebrations kicked off under cloud cover which soon way for bright stars by the last sunset of 2014. GLBT and straight campers came together to share in the party vibe. Features of the night were Bruce the bus’ impressive audio system, Uretiti drag fixture Miss Elibra Fleur, sassy wig wearing bears, a kaleidoscope of monarch butterflies, brightly painted seating and outdoor volleyball thanks to LYC all this plus fairy lights galore and the obligatory midnight pashes! I know right.
