Victoria University will be celebrating Pride Week from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 of July and has announced a line up of events taking place around Wellington to celebrate.

Monday: Board games night hosted at The Preservatorium, 39 Webb St from 6 to 10pm.

Tuesday: Screening of intersex documentary ‘Intersexion’, and a post-film discussion with Mani Mitchell, director and leading NZ intersex activist, with afternoon tea provided. SU217 (Kilburn), 2pm to 4pm.
Wednesday: Queerest tea party! Have a provided cuppa and a snack  in the Hub mezzanine from 12-2pm (Kelburn) or in the conference room (level two Student Services Building) at 12:30pm (Massey).
Thursday: Quiz night – Test your queer knowledge and win some great prizes! Teams of 4 or 5, hosted by Bad Grannies, 195 Cuba St, 6pm
Friday: Queer safe sex and consent workshop with guest facilitators from Family Planning and Student Health. All the things high school didn’t teach you! SU218, 1-3pm.

Friday: Screening of ‘Thin Edge of the Wedge’, hosted by MP Jan Logie. This film is a documentary about the passing of Homosexual Law Reform, being screeed in a secret location (details to come)
Saturday: Ivy Party! A classic, and Pride just wouldn’t be Pride without it. This year we’re going back to the 80’s, when legs were warm, waists were high, hair was teased, and Homosexual Law Reform was IN. Bust out your best jazzercise or hair metal gear and we’ll see you from 10:30pm. Prizes for best costume, and a dance-off!
