Marcelo grew up in São Paulo, Brazil; came out to his family at 16 years old and moved to New Zealand in May last year. He now works as a bartender at NZ’s busiest LGBTI venue Family. “It’s very intense. I’m mainly organising the bar and preparing drinks,” he tells express, adding the New Year’s Eve and Auckland Pride night parties were his favourites. “What a love about the job is that no shift is the same and I get to meet lots of incredible people!” Despite this he is yet to meet the ‘one’, Marcelo confirms he is still single. Time to buy a round!
