Mark your calendars because NZ’s biggest Pride Parade is coming! It’s free for community groups and you can register here.

The Wellington International Pride Parade will be held on Saturday 10 April, the weekend after Easter.

That give you just ten weeks to register here and get your group, float or whatever you’re bringing to the parade organised.

The fantastic news is that this year, entry into WIPP is free for all Rainbow community groups.

This year’s parade theme is Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) “Whatungarognaro te tangata, toitū te whenua” (As humanity disappears from sight the land remains).

In a statement the WIPP board said, “This whakataukī demonstrates the holistic value of the Māori, and the utmost respect they have for Papatūānuku the mother of the earth. We can’t wait to see you all flood the streets of Wellington in our celebration of PRIDE.”
