The Tiger King star’s legal team were reportedly “100 per cent confident” of a presidential pardon – they even had a limousine and hairstylist waiting outside the prison for him.

Netflix’s Tiger King star Joe Exotic has hit out against former President Donald Trump for refusing to pardon him.

Exotic will remain in prison, to serve out his 22-year sentence for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his nemesis Carol Baskin. He was originally convicted and sentenced in 2019.

He is not due to be released until 2037.

The former President pardoned 73 people and commuted 70 sentences during his last day in office.

While there was speculation that Exotic would be among them, he ultimately was not.

Exotic’s legal team were reportedly “100 per cent confident” of a presidential pardon – they even had a limousine and hairstylist waiting outside the prison for him.

“This time tomorrow, we’re going to be celebrating. We have good reason to believe it will come through,” Eric Love, head of Exotic’s legal team, told The Metro.

“We’re confident enough we already have a limousine parked about half a mile from the prison. We are really in action mode right now.”

The Tiger King star (or someone acting on his behalf) reportedly took to Twitter to express his outrage at the snub.

“I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump,” an account claiming to be Exotic tweeted the day Trump left office.

“I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post.”

“Boy, were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice?”

“His corrupt friends all come first.”

Exotic is due to be released in 2037, but his lawyers say he will die in prison, due to underlying health concerns.
