Put it in your calendars! Organisers of the Auckland Rainbow Pride Parade have announced that the new date for the event will be Saturday the 27th of March.

Kicking off from 6pm on Ponsonby road the Diversity, love and unity themed event was postponed due to Alert Level Restrictions across Aotearoa, which are set to be reduced from Sunday the 7th of March.

Speaking with express, event magazine, Shaughan Woodcock says that he and the team have been overwhelmed with support from the community, and are excited about being able to get the event underway on the new date of the 27th.

“We can’t wait to see the community out on Ponsonby Road on the 27th of March showcasing love, unity and diversity!”

“We are determined to put on the biggest and best Parade yet, and encourage everyone to get in on the spirit of the event and enjoy themselves.”

While excited for the event Woodcock also stresses that health and safety is their paramount responsibility.

“The health & safety of everyone participating, volunteering and attending our Parade is paramount …  as we move through Covid related Alert Level protocols, we assess all options and advice from key stakeholders.”
