Grammy Award-winning rock ensemble Greta Van Fleet is set to make a dynamic return to New Zealand as part of their Starcatcher World Tour. The band will grace Auckland’s Spark Arena on 30 August, marking their first performance in the country since 2019.

Originating from Frankenmuth, Michigan, the group comprises brothers Josh Kiszka (vocals), Jake Kiszka (guitar), Sam Kiszka (bass/keys), and drummer Danny Wagner. Their 2017 EP, From The Fires, propelled them into the spotlight, earning the Grammy for Best Rock Album at the 61st Grammy Awards. Subsequent albums, The Battle at Garden’s Gate (2021) and Starcatcher (2023) have further solidified their acclaim.

The latest album, Starcatcher, launched at number 8 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, reinforcing their stature in modern rock. Crafted at Nashville’s renowned RCA Studios with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album encapsulates the fervour of their live performances. The ten-track compilation navigates themes of fantasy, reality, and cosmic exploration. Reflecting on the album, bassist Sam Kiszka remarked, “When I imagine the world of Starcatcher, I think of the cosmos. It makes me ask a lot of questions, like ‘Where did we come from?’ or ‘What are we doing here?’”

With over 3.5 million records sold and exceeding 2 billion streams, Greta Van Fleet has captivated global audiences. Their electrifying live shows have illuminated major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Rock Werchter. They’ve also graced television stages on programmes like Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!
