Adult Film Star Scott Finn, Also Known as Rhett Douglas Messerly, Dies Aged 27

Rhett Douglas Messerly, known in the adult entertainment industry as Scott Finn, has died at the age of 27. His family confirmed his passing in a heartfelt online obituary that remembered him for his kindness, humour, and generous spirit.

Messerly passed away on 23 November 2025, with his family expressing comfort in the belief that “his pain here is over” and that he is “resting with his Heavenly Father again.” No official cause of death has been made public.

Remembering Rhett Messerly

Born on 2 February 1998 in Ogden, Utah, Messerly – affectionately known as Doug to his friends – was celebrated by those close to him as someone with a big smile, a silly, lighthearted nature, and an immense ability to accept people as they are.

“He always had a way of bringing a smile and laughter to those who knew him,” his family wrote. “Most importantly, he will be remembered for his incredible capacity to help others.”

A graduate of Weber High School, Rhett was lovingly referred to as “the goofball” by his peers and “the handsome boy with nice muscles” by many of the girls. His childhood was filled with sports like football and baseball, climbing trees, and competitive card games with his siblings — the kind that often ended in “all-out brawls,” his family recalled with affection.

“Rhett also loved climbing trees and was occasionally rescued by the fire department for climbing too high,” the obituary read.

In adulthood, Messerly found joy in the outdoors and hands-on hobbies — including golf, fishing, camping, cooking, and fixing things.

A Life in the Public Eye

Professionally, Messerly was best known as Scott Finn, a popular adult film performer who began his career in 2018, with credits on platforms such as Active Duty and Next Door Studios. He built a significant following in the gay adult entertainment industry, known for his charm and on-camera appeal.

Despite his public persona, Messerly remained deeply connected to his personal roots. In 2024, he hinted at a career pivot, launching new social media channels to showcase his chef skills. His final public post on X (formerly Twitter) in June 2025 reflected on a difficult year, describing it as a “hard life” while sharing a selfie with fans.
