Drag Race star Marina Summers has shared a deeply personal chapter of her life with fans, announcing her gender transition in a heartfelt Instagram post that has since received an outpouring of global love and support.
“I’d like to borrow a bit of your time today and tell you something beautiful and meaningful,” she began.
The beloved finalist from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World Season Two opened up about her long journey toward living her truth, revealing that she had started socially transitioning last year and began hormone replacement therapy (HRT) by the end of 2025.
“Today feels like that moment”
Marina rose to international fame after first competing in Drag Race Philippines, where she finished as runner-up. She later returned to the franchise on UK vs The World, dazzling fans with show-stopping looks and standout performances, earning three challenge wins before being eliminated just before the top two. While the crown ultimately went to Tia Kofi, Marina’s journey has continued to inspire many.
Now, she’s inviting fans into a far more personal chapter.
“Since I was a child, I’ve always felt feminine – even deep into the parts that I didn’t always know how to name,” she wrote.
“For so many years, I poured that energy into carving a life that required me to move at full speed… Becoming the person I’ve always seen myself as felt like something I’d get to ‘later.’”
Marina said that in 2025, she finally gave herself permission to stop putting her identity on hold:
“But last year, I finally gave myself permission to stop pausing. And start my transition.”
She explained that she chose to keep the early stages of her transition private:
“It’s not as if I was hiding something from the world. I just really needed space to feel it, to heal, to simply exist in my own skin without the outside noise.”
“Hello again my friends, it’s me, Marina.”
In her post, Marina also shared that she would no longer be using her birth name, reaffirming her identity as Marina:
“Hello again my friends, it’s me, Marina.”
She ended her post with gratitude to her followers:
“This chapter means the world to me, and I’m happy to finally share it with all of you.”
