PICS: A Wild Night With Heart at Wild Dunedin’s Masquerade Gala

There is something especially lovely about a room full of people dressed to the nines for a genuinely good cause, and the Wild Night Masquerade Gala & Charity Auction delivered exactly that.

Held as part of Wild Dunedin’s New Zealand Festival of Nature, the glamorous evening brought together more than 150 guests for a night of celebration, community and meaningful support for local conservation efforts.

Better still, the event raised more than $15,000 for a range of nature-focused organisations doing vital work across the region, including the Otago Peninsula Trust, Wildlife Hospital Dunedin, Wild Dunedin Trust, and Tūhura Otago Museum Trust.

“Wild Dunedin was so excited to welcome more than 150 attendees at this year’s Wild Night Masquerade Gala, where we raised more than $15,000 for local conservation-focused organisations,” said Jerad Haldan, trustee of the Wild Dunedin Trust.

From the masks and finery to the generosity in the room, the gala was a reminder that protecting the environment can also be an act of joy, connection and collective care.
