Move over, Heated Rivalry — there is a sexy new hockey crew ready to take over screens.
Off Campus is the latest steamy adapted TV series, based on Elle Kennedy’s hugely popular book series of interconnected college hockey romances.
Much like Heated Rivalry, the show follows handsome athletes whose lives become complicated by whirlwind romances, sporting ambition, lust, and love. The stars of the new series have already gone viral thanks to sweaty, shirtless scenes teased in trailers and clips.
Belmont Cameli, Josh Heuston, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Antonio Cipriano, and Stephen Kalyn are embracing the attention as fans around the world dive into the show’s dramatic storylines and very visible assets.
“It’s an absolute honor to be the subject of that spice! We treated those scenes with a lot of reverence and care. I know fans show up for that hot, steamy stuff and they’re absolutely going to get it. If you’re showing up for steamy, you’re coming to the right place,” Cameli tells Out.
A dream role for Josh Heuston
For Heuston, Off Campus marks one of his sexiest roles yet, and one he says has long been on his bucket list.
“It’s a dream role in a way. You get out there and pretend to be a rockstar. It’s a little bit of a rush. You get in there with your scene partner and a lot of us are good friends. It’s just another day being naked,” Heuston tells Out.
While Off Campus centres on heterosexual relationships and college romance drama, many fans of Heated Rivalry are already gravitating towards the new hockey series, especially as production on Heated Rivalry season two is expected to begin later this year.
Carrying the hockey romance torch
Kalyn says Heated Rivalry helped create space for more hockey romance stories to break through on screen.
“Heated Rivalry did an amazing job starting that off and we’re excited to carry that torch a little bit. I’m from Toronto, so it’s really cool to see another Canadian actor, Hudson Williams, taking off right now. It’s really inspiring,” Kalyn tells Out.
Cameli also praised the success of the Heated Rivalry cast.
“Those guys deserve all the success they have. They’re great guys and I think we deliver pretty well too,” he adds.
With its mix of college drama, athletic tension, romance, and plenty of steamy scenes, Off Campus looks set to become the next obsession for viewers who like their sports stories with a heavy dose of heat.
