Arohanui, Carmen xx opened at Wellington Museum with a fabulous celebration of one of Aotearoa’s most fearless queer icons. Guests gathered to honour Carmen Rupe’s extraordinary life and legacy, surrounded by glamorous outfits, photographs, archives and treasures from the Queen of Wellington’s remarkable world.
‘Arohanui, Carmen xx’ will be exhibited in Wellington Museum’s Te Wheke Gallery from 3 October – 17 February
