This year the team at the New Zealand AIDS Foundation are putting up their hands to participate in the Auckland Marathon and fundraise for the expansion of their HIV prevention and support services.
With Auckland Marathon as a charity partner NZAF are looking for members of the community to become “Golden Runners” to participate and fundraise.
With funding not having increased with inflation since 2009, the Foundation needs your help to ensure the ongoing success of their HIV prevention programmes, testing and counselling services, and support services for people living with HIV.
The Auckland Marathon is New Zealand’s premier road race. This year the organisers want to focus on fundraising and have set a target of $2 million. With your participation a portion of that will go to the NZAF.
Entry fees and support are provided as part of the pledge agreement and application. If you are already taking part as a “General Runner” you can nominate NZAF as your charity of choice.
The Auckland Marathon will take place on 2 November 2014.
