The Daily Mirror reports that Mikhail Ivan Gallatinov, 40 and his fellow male inmate Marc Goodwin, 31, became Britain’s first same sex couple to marry behind bars.

They sealed their union at the top security jail with a kiss and a slice of cake.

The lifers, who are the first same sex couple to marry behind bars in the UK, fell for each other over the past two years.

Both are serving life sentences at Full Sutton Prison, East Yorkshire.
