Rainbow Tick clients say they are left waiting months to get replies from the organisation. “They probably realise they can treat us poorly because it’s such a bad look for us to leave,” a corporation paying RT thousands tells us.

Since publishing an expose on the Rainbow Tick (RT) back in January, express has been approached by whistle-blowing staff members and clients unhappy with the organisation.

One Rainbow Tick client told express they had been waiting months to hear back from the organisation which had not been replying to their emails.

“After four or five months of getting no response, we were informed that our Program Manager had left the company and RT was in the process of restructuring so there would be no more Programme Managers. However, they provided no details on who our new facilitators were.”

The high-ranking RT client told express, “Their operating model is broken. The other diversity and pride groups they work with are very concerned.”

However, when asked if their organisation would leave RT, the client confirmed to express that they would stay with RT and apply for the reaccreditation process, suggesting their hands were tied.

“They probably realise they can treat us poorly because it’s such a bad look for us to leave,” they said.

According to the whistle-blowers who approached express, Rainbow Tick’s staff are equally unhappy.

One staff member we spoke to expressed concern that the organisation had not offered its corporate clients any Trans or Intersex training since January, initially due to the departure of another staff member. “But there is no sign of them bringing that training back,” the concerned employee says.

Another staff member told express, they suspected the organisation had not implemented a detailed transitioning at work policy.

“Some of our clients are doing tremendous work, and yet our own workplace isn’t doing the things we recommend.”

“There is so much hypocrisy running through this organisation. The rainbow communities are just an opportunity to make money,” the staff member stated.

express has reached out to Rainbow Tick for comment.
