J.K. Rowling has responded to Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, former Harry Potter stars, after they expressed support for the transgender community following her controversial essay, “TERF Wars.”

In a series of tweets, Rowling expressed her frustration, particularly after the release of the Cass report, which proposed changes in the way trans youth receive healthcare in the UK. She claimed the report validated her growing concerns about the harm she believes is caused by current healthcare practices for trans youth.

Rowling declared that she would not forgive Radcliffe and Watson even if they retracted their statements and apologised – before also criticising celebrities who, according to her, support a movement that undermines women’s rights and advocates for the transitioning of minors without sufficient oversight.

“Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-sex spaces.” – JK Rowling.

Rowling, who argues that such apologies should instead be directed towards “traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-sex spaces,” expressed a firm stance against what she perceives as undue influence from public figures on sensitive issues.

This interaction highlights the deepening rift between Rowling and members of the Harry Potter franchise who have taken a stand on transgender rights, contrasting sharply with her views.
