The digital global media organisation Vocativ has developed a Queer Index to rank Rainbow friendly cities in America.
The index incorporates data from open databases, public sites and social networks. 16 “key lifestyle metrics” were measured and “specific factors” included the size of cities LGBT communities, number of “out” singles, openly gay and lesbian politicians, queer friendly businesses, hate crime rates and even the ease of casual hook-ups. Here are the Top 10 :
