Let face it, 2020 has been a total drag! The time has come to wheel out the glitter cannon and shoot the rainbow back into the wild night sky with Dragon’s Diva Den at The Civic Wintergarden on Friday 6 and 13 November.

Tucked full of fierce lip-syncs, sensational live singing, and drag that slays, Dragon’s Diva Den is a night of truly wicked gay abandon, as two special guest stars transform live onstage into outrageous drag personas.

Under the heavily mascaraed gaze of Lady Trenyce Bhone, Ms Lady B, and a special guest queen, the “baby dragons” will be launched into the spotlight to strut their stuff. This is cabaret, theatre and live mischief at its finest.

Brainchild of Manchester-born Bryony Skillington aka Ms Lady B, Dragon’s Diva Den recently sold out at Te Tairāwhiti Arts Festival in Gisborne. Bryony developed the concept for Dragon’s Diva Den in 2015 and juggled creating the show with her accelerating career as a writer, director, actor, singer, and cabaret artist. Armed with a sense of anarchy and unabashed fun, her theatre credits include The Blind Date Project (Silo Theatre), Billy Elliot the Musical (Auckland Theatre Company), Feste in Twelfth NightThe Witch – Into the Woods (Fortune Theatre), and a regular spot in Basement Theatre’s annual Christmas shows.

A gifted set and production designer by day, Daniel Williams aka Lady Trenyce Bhone dazzles as his alter-ego with a flair for all things fabulous as part of the Dragon’s Diva Den, sprucing our new recruits ahead of their world drag debut.

Auckland Live is delighted to welcome audiences back to the Wintergarden stage inside the sumptuous Civic.

Packed with wild antics, spot prizes, and relentless raunch, an evening in the Dragon’s Diva Den is guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face and a rainbow in your heart.

Everyone is welcome. Love and glitter always the answer.
