DJ Ashley Craig passed away at his home in Brisbane on Thursday 31 August. He was 38 years old.

Ashley Craig played Queenstown’s Winter Pride festival (formerly Gay Ski Week QT) for nearly 10 years.

Ashley was orginally hired by Gay Ski Week QT organiser Sally Woods who describes him as ‘family.’

“There are no words to describe the amazing Ashley,” she tells YOUR EX in tribute.

“He came to Queenstown when I ran GSWQT and became part of the family, along with many others.

“We were a close group that made GSWQT feel like home and a wonderful community event.

“Losing Ashley feels as if I have lost a part of my family. I am truly devastated to not speak to or see him ever again.

“We have lost an amazingly kind and caring person, and no one could ever replace him.

“He brought love, life, and energy to all he did. He will be missed by so many and for me, he is a huge part of what made the event, what it is,” Sally tells YOUR EX.

“Rest in Peace Ash. In the words of our favourite, Whitney, ‘I will always love you!'”

Ashley was laid to rest this morning in Brisbane.
