52 Tuesdays has just announced an international release. Lydia Zanetti explains why it is a must see.
There’s so many things to get excited about in 2015 but this Aussie film trailer has just topped a bunch of them…
Winner of the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award after it’s 2014 Sundance Film Festival premiere, 52 Tuesdays looks to be a key film for the LGBTIQ community in 2015.
52 Tuesdays represents each Tuesday meet up between 16 year old Billie and her mother, who starts the film by announcing she is planning to transition. In a truly unique process, the film was also filmed only once a week over a year – with the actors only getting the script for that week. As such it presents a raw and intimate portrayal of every stage of the journey.
With international release dates throughout early 2015, the DVD and digital download is already available in New Zealand through my52tuesdays.com, and hopefully on the big screen too! The media kit also includes a document outlining transgender terms and pronouns usage – excellent!
