123 couples said “I do” in a mass wedding held in Taipei.
Despite same sex marriage not being legal in the country, 10 same-sex couples exchanged vows at the annual event for the first time.
Over 16,000 couples have participated in mass wedding ceremonies hosted by the Taipei city government since 1973.
For the first time same sex have been permitted to participate in the mass wedding.
Same sex marriage has not yet been legalised in Taiwan, despite recent attempts to, including a bill that was introduced to the country’s parliament in early 2015.
